About Carmen Scarano
I discovered my passion for dance at the age of nine, a love that has grown into my life’s calling. For over 24 years, I have worked as a dance educator, artist, and choreographer, creating spaces where movement, expression, and connection come to life.
My work spans a wide range of projects: from violence-prevention programs for children and educational concepts for schools, to dance-based workshops in correctional facilities and teaching at universities. Each project is unique, shaped by the people I work with, and constantly teaches me about human connection and creativity.
I am particularly passionate about interdisciplinary, inclusive, and performative art. Through my concept Conscious Bodies / Dance as a Healing Art Form, I explore how intuitive movement, inspiring music, and mindful presence can foster healing, self-expression, and inner peace. For me, dance is never just about technique – it’s about transformation, connection, and empowerment.
Beyond my artistic work, I am a proud mother of two sons, and we live in Stuttgart. Exploring nature, traveling, and sharing adventures with them constantly fuels my creativity.
One of my most impactful experiences was the Reset & Inspirational Week 2023, which allowed me to reconnect and gain clarity on my personal and professional path.
I have known Marjon for over 20 years. I first met her in Stuttgart at a modern dance workshop, where she was my teacher. I was inspired by her open, witty, and spontaneous way of teaching. Over the years, we have shared many workshops, invited each other to projects, and visited one another in the Netherlands and New York City. What began as a professional connection has grown into a wonderful, unique friendship, despite living in different countries.
This year, I am especially excited to support Marjon as an assistant while also sharing my own knowledge and passion for movement, yoga, and mindfulness with participants in my own teaching sessions. This opportunity fills me with great gratitude and anticipation – because here I can pass on my love for dance, healing, and conscious movement even more deeply.
For me, dancing means far more than just movement. It is a language that opens hearts, builds community, and enables healing. And that is exactly what I want to share through my work: bringing people into motion – physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
